The Beijing Second Intermediate People's court held hearings on Tuesday on Chen Jia drunk driving and hit and run case, but didn't announce a judgment or sentence in court.

The driver Chen Jia was charged with endangering public security, and could receive the death sentence. But an insider says Chen and the prosecutor have reached an out-of-court settlement.

One year ago, Chen Jia's Infiniti hit another vehicle while waiting at a traffic light. Two of three occupants were killed. Chen, who was under the influence of alcohol, fled the scene after the crash. The case caused great public anger on the internet.
