It has been more than two weeks since the devastating earthquake and tsunami hit Japan. Relief materials in disaster-hit areas are still in short supply, especially drinking water.

To help, China sent 60-thousand bottles of water to Japan on Monday. This is China's second batch of aid, which also includes more than three-million pairs of rubber gloves.

The materials will arrive at Iwate Prefecture, Miyagiken and Ibarakiken on Tuesday. Earlier, China sent towel blankets, tents and emergency lighting equipment.

China has also sent fuel to Japan, to help ease the shortage in the country. Japan's refining capacity has been cut, due to the shutdown of several key facilities.
