In two parallel stories - one set in modern-day China, the other in the 19th century - Chinese actress Li Bingbing joins South Korean star Jun Ji-hyun in a portrayal of an unusual, life-long friendship between two women.

Li Bingbing can also be seen in the Jackie Chan-Jet Li movie, "The Forbidden Kingdom" (2008).

Jun Ji-hyun is best known for her lead role in the 2001 South Korean movie, "My Sassy Girl".

The Asian actresses speak English in "Snow Flower".

The movie, adapted from Lisa See's novel of the same name, is directed by Chinese-American filmmaker Wayne Wang.
