Guzheng is the Chinese name for a traditional Chinese zither. And the number of people learning how to play Guzheng has been steadily increasing in recent years. Now, Chinese Guzheng Art Week is underway and is attracting the attention of many of those music lovers.

According to organizers, Guzheng Art Week has attracted more than 10,000 people thus far and about 500 Guzheng players have been selected to join a competition held in Beijing.

Many youngsters have started to learn Guzheng as well and their enthusiasm is gradually building. Now, the number of Guzheng players taking proficiency exams is just a bit less than the number taking the test for Piano. It's now a hot trend to learn folk instruments here in China.
