In the latest on Beijing's efforts to ease its massive traffic jams, car license plates will be allocated through a lottery system. Two channels will be available.

As of January 1st, institutions and individuals can log on a special website to apply. And from January 4th, applicants can also go to relevant government department branches with the required documentation. Those who submit applications before the 8th of every month can check the result after the 25th of the same month. And those who submit applications on or after the 9th can check their results from the 25th of the following month
