200 million cars are expected to be on China's roads by year 2020. China is aiming to be the world's largest new energy vehicle market by then.

China overtook the US to be the world's top car maker and market in 2009. By 2020, China is expected to have 5 million new energy cars on the roads and sell more than 15 million of fuel-efficient automobiles around the world each year.

Government officials say the goal for the next decade is to increase its market share of pure-electric and plug-in electric cars, build globally competitive car and parts manufacturers, and raise fuel-efficiency.
