A Chinese company has come up with an innovative concept, to ease the heavy pressure on China's road transport system. The elevated high-speed bus will be part of a pilot project in Beijing.

The vehicle carries passengers above street level, allowing traffic to pass underneath. The concept could very well alleviate road congestion. The concept designer says it's also environmentally friendly, fueled by electric power which is supplemented by solar energy gleaned from the roof.

Song Youzhou, Manager of Shenzhen Huashi Future Parking Equipment Co. said "The Elevated High-Speed Bus is a low-carbon, environmental-protection and high-efficiency project. It solves the problems of ordinary fuel-consuming buses, including air pollution, carbon emissions, space occupancy and low efficiency. The Elevated High-Speed Bus combines the merits of Bus Rapid Transit and subway."
