Two white lion cubs born at Belgrade Zoo in Serbia made their first public appearance on Thursday. The zoo now has 7 white lions but hopes to have more new-borns.

Three cubs were born on last Thursday, but one died on Wednesday. White lions are a rare mutation of a species found in South Africa, and are traditionally considered divine.

Stories about mysterious white lions have been circulating around the country for centuries. But their color put them at a significant disadvantage while protecting themselves. Now there are only around 200 left in the world.
