The DPRK has held a mass rally to celebrate the 57th anniversary of the armistice to end the Korean War, known in the DPRK as the "the day of victory".

State-run television broadcast Monday's rally, which included a large number of communist party and military officials.

Kim Young Chun, vice-chairman of the National Defense Commission, and minister of the People's Armed Forces, warned that the DPRK would "mobilize tremendous military potential, including its nuclear deterrent," if the US and South Korea ignite a new war.
