China's economy has posted good results for the first half of this year. But as both the international and domestic environments become more complex, what are China's prospects for growth in the second half? Some economists say a slow-down can be expected.

Zhuang Jian is a senior economist from Asian Development Bank. He says China's growth in the second half of this year will be slower than the first half.

Zhuang Jian, Senior Economist from Asian Development Bank, said, "Economic growth in second half this year will be around 9 percent, lower than the first half. It's because the growth figure for the second half last year was higher than that for the first half."

Economists from the World Bank hold the same view, predicting the pace of economic growth to be slower than one or two years ago.

Louis Kuijs, Senior Economist, World Bank said, "China's growth will still be very solid, very good in the international comparison, but that the rate of growth will not be high any more, as it was in 2006, 2007 and 2008."

But both economists say China's macro economic policy is very helpful to its economic development. Even though growth may slow down, China's ongoing economic restructuring will help the country maintain steady and sustainable development in the future.
