The Party School of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee opened to media from both home and abroad on June 30th, one day ahead of the 89th anniversary of the founding of the CPC.

It is the first time for the Party school to invite such a large number of overseas reporters.

More than 60 reporters, including 42 from 24 overseas news agencies, were invited to the mystery-shrouded school in the northwestern part of Beijing.

Chen Baosheng, the vice president of the Party School, spoke at the Press conference. "The Party School, as well as other departments of CPC, released limited information to the outside world in these years, but we are trying to change the current situation and enlarge the opening up, because our party, as a party who serves people, is willing to communicate with anyone who would like to make friends with us."

The building of a study-oriented Party is one of the hot topics among foreign media. Chen said that CPC has attached great importance to study, and studying is considered to be the core part of the building of the party, he said.

"The current world is undergoing profound changes, China has also been undergoing profound changes, and there are many fields needing our exploration and many challenges we have to face, so we have to keep learning."

Chen also said the Fourth Plenum of the 14th Chinese Communist Party Central Committee has put forward plans to build the CPC into a study-oriented Party, which means learning from history, from people, from practice and from other nations' experiences in sound governance. He also pointed out the CPC Central Committee Party School serves as the highest educational institution for the training of medium and high ranking Party officials from across the country, so it shoulders historical responsibilities in the building of a study-oriented party.

Reporters from both home and abroad also visited the teaching areas, the gymnasium, dormitories and dining hall, as well as attending some classes and interviewing the teachers and students there.
