Environment-friendly vehicles are not just a theme at the Shanghai Expo. About 300 buses showing the future of transport are already in service at the Expo Park.

This bus, equipped with a super-capacitor, can have its battery charged while making a stop. And it needs no power cables like the old-fashioned trolley-bus.

Hybrid buses are also making their contribution.

They use electricity when starting, cutting the need for fossil fuels. Local bus operators are quite confident about these innovative buses and plan to put more into service after the Expo, with the support of the municipality.
