A hailstorm has battered more than 13,000 hectares of farmland in central Xinjiang.

A strong wind carrying hailstones swept through Changji Hui Autonomous County late on Sunday afternoon, destroying many corn and tomato crops. The storm lasted for more than 15 minutes, with the biggest hailstones measuring two centimeters in diameter. Most of farms belong to the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.
