Many injured people from the April 14th Yushu earthquake are now receiving treatment in Chengdu, capital of neighbouring province of Sichuan, including psychological help. One of them is Ga Ji, who's three-months pregnant. Her husband and three of their children died in the quake. Each time she has counselling the doctor always asks her: May I hold your hands?

Today is the 11th day after Gaji was moved to Chengdu. She was injured by a falling wall in the quake. After 11 days of treatment, her physical condition is improving.

Huang Yu, a gynaecology doctor, said "Her condition is stable. The baby is all right. She is free to move. But her mental well being fluctuates dramatically."

Her psychological condition has already affected her diet. And the doctors' biggest worry is that if the baby dies, it will hit her harder than the tragedy she's already suffered. To help she's being given post traumatic stress counseling.

"May I hold your hands? Indeed the whole thing hurts you so much, and you're feeling as if the pain of losing your children will never leave your mind, aren't you? I can feel it." said Zhou Bo, a gynaecologist.

Gaji is one of 405 victims receiving treatment in Chengdu, and she still has a long way to go. Most patients have broken bones and respiratory diseases. As soon as they reached Chengdu, they were transferred to the most suitable hospitals for treatment. Many doctors experienced the Wenchuan earthquake 2 years ago.
