Experts from the Ministry of Land and Resources have determined the location of the earthquake's fracture belt and its macro epicenter.

It comes after five days of on-site investigation. They said identifying the macro epicenter is critical for reconstruction efforts.

Zhang Yongshuang, Researcher of Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, said, "We have found the macro epicenter, and know the fracture belt is continuous. We can follow the fracture belt through Yushu County. It's important to avoid building any structure near this belt in the future."
