A panda trapped on a cliff has been rescued and returned to the wild by farmers and staff of Heizhugou reserve in Sichuan Province. The rescuers spent nine hours to help the black and white animal out of trouble in E'bian County.

Local farmers found the panda trapped between rocks on a cliff about 50 meters high. They called staff at the reserve whose rescuers approached the panda slowly from above and guided it to a safe place with food. The panda is believed to be in good physical condition and became trapped while searching for food. The reserve says it will put more food in the wild to supplement the winter supply.
