For people tired of long queues for tickets, and crowded public transport, travelling independently is a good choice. A hundred thousand migrant workers in Guangdong province are making their journey home by motorbike.

 

Motorcycle teams have appeared carrying migrant workers desperate to get home. Their destinations range from nearby regions, to as far away as Sichuan province, hundreds of kilometers away. Riding motorcycles for such a long journey can take hours, even days.

Luckily, the riders have support and guidance on their journey from the police. Officers have set up roadside resting points, with hot tea and medicine. They are also sending vehicles to guide the bikers if there is bad weather.

Migrant workers say the trip can save them most of their normal transport costs. But of course, they need to be fit and healthy before making such a long trip.
