The world's largest underground theatre is being built in Shanghai. Construction of the structure's facade and entrance area has been completed.

Building workers were treated to a performance from the Shanghai Philharmonic on Wednesday afternoon. Eighty percent of the 57 thousand square-meter project is underground, stretching down to a depth of 26 meters.

Once completed, the theatre will be the world's largest and deepest with an unparalleled seating capacity for 2 thousand and 10 people.

The theatre will also have a multi-functioning stage, capable of rotating, lifting and complete with water-fountains.
