Competitors are about to become colleagues. Flight attendants for two different airlines from the Mainland and Taiwan will soon provide service on the same passenger planes. The joint effort is part of an exchange project between aviation industries across the Strait.

Taiwan-based China Airlines and Mainland-based Eastern Airlines have launched the project to learn from each other. The plan is expected to lead to higher quality service. The two companies, which share similar routes between the Mainland and Taiwan, will send their cabin crews to work on each other's carriers. The first group of Taiwan attendants will board Mainland planes in the coming month. Both airline companies believe the exchanges are likely to expand to management teams, and other areas, in the future.
