Fireworks have lit up the sky of Liuyang, in central China's Hunan province. The city has held an International Fireworks Festival.
Pyrotechnics from Japan, Spain and host Hunan province, competed for the trophies. Flamboyant fireworks conjured up glamour with music, turning the night sky into a scintillating wonderland. Liuyang enjoys worldwide fame for its fireworks.
The grand prize and first prize went to two companies from the city. A Japanese company won the award for best lighting effect.
