The Second Chinese Naval Fleet has reached the Singapore Strait after more than 70 hours in the South China Sea. The fleet is scheduled to cross the Malacca Strait and enter the Indian Ocean on Tuesday.
The Singapore Strait is an important passage between the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean. An average of over 200 vessels come and go through the busy strait every day. The mission also includes the destroyer, Shenzhen, and the frigate Huangshan.
The fleet is continuing its voyage under the authority of the UN Law of the Sea Treaty. Some of the international ships in the region have expressed their gratitude to the Chinese Navy.
