With China's own patents, the ARJ21 is a regional jet, that can seat 150 passengers comfortably. Global and domestic buyers have ordered more than 200 jets.
Luo Ronghuai said, "We plan to deliver 5 jets in 2010, another 10 jets in 2011, and 15 more in 2012."
According to the schedule, the airplane company plans to achieve a production capability of 50 regional jets by 2012. In the mean time, the company says a campaign to build large passenger planes is on the way. A feasibility study will be finished this year and related key technologies will proceed to an intensive research and development stage, with a five year budget of tens of billions of yuan.
