Japanese electronics giant Sony says it expects a 2.9 billion US dollar operating loss for the current business year. It will be Sony's first loss in 14 years.
Slumping sales, additional restructuring costs and declines in Japan's stock market have contributed to worsening conditions.
Sony plans to cut its TV design workforce by 30 percent.
