Zhou Qihong pointed out in addition to professional courses, real practice is also important. He said students should fully prepared before staring a business.
Zhou Qihong said "Many students are too anxious to succeed. They thought starting a business was easy, actually it's quite complicated. Of course, besides the physiological factor, they should see whether the projects have a market or not."
The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences says in its 2009 almanac of statistics, the country faces the task of finding jobs for nearly 6.5 million college graduates next year. This is an historic high and half a million more than in 2008. To help cope with employment pressure, the government has issued preferential policies for students who want to start a business after graduation such as tax exemption. But for students, they need more detailed information from their schools.
Wu Maohui, one student said "I hope to get objective, real and abundant employment information as much as possible from school. Now the information is not enough."
Actually, universities are paying more attention to helping their students find jobs or start businesses.
Ding Ting is the director of Minzu University's Career Center. He said the center was setting up a new network platform that covering various employment information and career guidance.
Ding Ting, Director of Career Center of Minzu University of China said "We planned to launch career planning courses among freshmen. In fact, from 2009, all matriculated students will get not only the admission notification, but also a career plan, letting them realize that they should consider their future as long as they enter the college."
It is obvious that the gold winner Huang Jian has already made a good plan for his future.
Huang Jian said "We have set up a company. We plan to issue our magazine in all of the 40 universities in Hangzhou within five years."
The global economic slowdown has indeed dampened employment, but it hasn't quenched young people's enthusiasm to start their own businesses. When hunting for a job becomes harder, creating a career can be a good option for graduates, as long as they are fully prepared and get the proper guidance.
