The 2008 Wildlife Photography Contest has awarded its annual trophy for "wildlife and the environment" to a Chinese photographer. The award was presented in London.
This photograph shows a group of starving swans in search of food beneath the snow. It was shot by Chinese photographer Zhu Yongkang in the Shandong Swan Protection area. Judges say the photo has perfect composition. Its content addresses the theme of the contest.
