Momentum is building in the US for a new economic stimulus package, after Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke endorsed extra help for the ailing economy on Monday.
The White House has said it's open to the idea.
Bernanke told a congressional panel that another wave of government spending may be needed as the economy limps through what could be an extended period of slow growth.
