The lighting of the Paralympic flame at the Temple of Heaven is meant to symbolize the connection between heaven and man. This is a core concept in traditional Chinese culture,embodying the Chinese people's pursuit of harmony between man and nature.
From August 29th to September 6th,the nine-day long Beijing Paralympic torch relay will be conducted simultaneously along two routes — Ancient China and Modern China.
