The Federal Reserve is keeping its target for the federal funds rate, the interest that banks charge each other on overnight loans, at 2%. It has been at that level since April.
The Fed says the substantial easing in monetary policy, combined with ongoing measures to foster market liquidity, should help to promote moderate economic growth.
