With the start of the Beijing Olympics only a few weeks away, global media outlets have already kicked off coverage of the big event.
News and stories featuring the upcoming Olympics and Beijing's preparations for the games are making headlines in Taiwan. Four television stations in Taiwan will broadcast live coverage of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics. Newspapers in Taiwan are also trying to seize the Olympic opportunity.
Xiong Changcheng, director Sports News Section, "CHINATIMES", said, "We've reported on Olympics-related stories since Beijing began the 100-day run-up to the Olympics. Starting on August 7th, one day before the opening of the Olympics, we'll be publishing a daily special column featuring the great event. "
