Metro line 2 starts operation at east section

The east section of Metro Line 2 started operation on Dec. 10 in Qingdao, Shandong.
It is the second subway service in the city, crossing the pre-existing Line 3 at Licun and Wusi Guangchang stations.
The first stage of construction of the subway service covers 22 stations along 25.2 kilometers. The route runs from Licun Gongyuan Station in the north to Maidao Station in the south, and then turns west to end at Taishan Station.
The east section covering 18 out of the total 22 stations have been in operation since early December.
