CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd. signed a contract with S?o Paulo, Brazil-based CPTM to supply the latter with 8 trains of altogether 64 cars on September 1 local time in S?o Paulo.

The trains marked S?o Paulo’s first order of such vehicles from China and will be used on the city’s Metro Line 13.

Line 13, which will have a length of 12.2 km upon completion, will connect the city center of S?o Paulo?with the?International Airport of Guarulhos. It is South America’s first metro line that stops at airports.

CPTM called for bids worldwide in 2016 to purchase operating trains for this line and CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd. was the winner.

The trains involved in the deal were 1600mm broad-gauge ones, with each composed of four motor cars and four trailer ones with a maximum speed of 90 km/h. The trains will be designed on China's full-fledged A-type metro technology platform while incorporating Brazilian system of technological standards and local culture.

Meanwhile, advanced safety control and information processing technologies such as derailment inspection, fine water mist fire extinguishment and ground-train 3G/4G information transmission will be adopted.

Delivery is scheduled to start in 2019.?
