2015 National 'Quality Month' Launching Ceremony was held in Qingdao on Sept. 1. The theme of this year's activities is 'entering a quality era & establishing a quality nation'. Qingdao was awarded as 'Model City for Quality development'.
The theme is to highlight a quality-oriented development in meeting new economic trends, emphasize the dominant role of enterprises, and raise public awareness on valuing the idea of quality. Chen Gang, vice minister of General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China, said so at the launching ceremony.
This year's 'Quality Month' activities saw better involvement on all sides, greater influence and more local and industrial features.
Zhi Shuping, minister of AQSIQ, branded Qingdao as a 'Model City for Quality development'. Up to now, there are 113 applicant cities nationwide, among which 63 are approved to establish quality development cities, and 12 are awarded as model cities. Apart from model cities, 19 exemplary zones for specific industry and trademark developing are awarded.
To further advance quality supervision, AQSIQ is drafting the quality promotion legislations, and is to evaluate the ongoing activities at the provincial level.
