To enrich Qingdao citizens' cultural lives, Qingdao Tianhou Temple holds the 16th Qingdao Tianhou Temple Cultural Temple Fair. Activities include blessing ceremony in the New Year's Eve, folk handcraft performance, local opera performance, exhibition of ancient lamps and Lantern Festival party.
It is the largest temple fair during Spring Festival in Qingdao with a history of over 500 years. In 2006, it is listed as the provincial level intangible cultural heritage and officially named as Qingdao Tianhou Temple Xinzheng Folk Culture Temple Fair. The temple fair this year will include blessing ceremony at 23:30 on Feb. 18 and folk art performance at 0:18-00:38.
