Qingdao, a coastal city in Shandong province, was chosen as one of top five cities where retirees are willing to live, according to a sample survey by Fortune China.
Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, Chengdu city, capital of Sichuan province, Suzhou city, Jiangsu province, and Zhuhai city, Guangdong province, are the other four cities listed.
The survey aims to find the five best cities for retirees to live in after it examined a shortlist of 50 cities for their quality of life, social welfare, harmony between urban and the natural landscape, cultural atmosphere, service provision, healthcare and housing for retirees, and sense of happiness.
25,000 senior executives were selected as subjects from the data base of readers of Fortune China. 1,150 of these readers replied to the survey request.
