4. China Qingdao Ocean Festival 中國青島國際海洋節(jié)
The Qingdao Ocean Festival was created in 1999 and is held in July every year to present Qingdao as a seashore tourist city. Exploring the ocean while protecting it has become a common action of the world of today and this is a focus of this festival. Qingdao's history of some 100 years is closely related with the ocean. In 2008, it successfully hosted the Olympic sailing competition. The ocean economy and the ocean culture have become powerful driving forces of Qingdao's prosperity and development. Its theme is "Welcome the Ocean Century with a Brighter Future".
