Boeing Group along with Qingdao Institute of BioEnergy and Bioprocess Technology will work together to develop a sustainable algal aviation biofuel to improve the environment and economy.
Boeing's R&D department and the institute under the Chinese Academy of Sciences signed an agreement May 26 to expand cooperation and develop algal aviation biofuel.
The two parties will establish a joint research lab to engage in the development of algal planting, harvesting and processing technologies. The lab, based in Qingdao and under the joint management of Beoing's R&D center in China and the institute, will focus on the commercialization of the technologies.
