The challenge attracted participants that ranged from 8 to 72 years of age from 13 Chinese cities. The top winner Tan Lu, a 33-year-old railway worker, presented a delicate and intricate cutting and engraving artwork called Peony and Phoenix.

The second and third prizes include a collage made from carving out soda cans, birds made of milk cartons, and an aerial map made from wax. The selected works will be on display at the Montreal Pavilion in the Urban Best Practices Area of the Expo from now until the close of the Expo on October 31st.
