Saturday marked Kazakhstan's national pavilion day at the Shanghai World Expo. A country known as the world's largest landlocked country. In the pavilion, Kazakhstan aims to showcase the best of its young and dynamic developing capital, Astana.

Performing artists welcome visitors with traditional song and dance routines with ethnic flavors of Kazakhstan.

The Kazakhstan Pavilion is located in Zone A of the Expo Park, covering an area of around one thousand square meters.

The pavilion features advanced electronic and information systems as well as virtual reproduction technologies, which provides a panoramic view of Kazakhstan, a country rich in cultural and ethnical diversity.

Raykhan Dilmagambetova, Commissioner of Kazakhstan Pavilion, said, "The Kazakhs love the falcon. Golden Eagle hunting is the traditional sport of our country. A well trained golden eagle is worth the price of a good horse. Our falcons are very strong and robust. The wingspread of a falcon is approximately two meters."

A highlight in Kazakhstan's Pavilion is its 4-D cinema, displaying films that chronicle the country from its past nomadic days to present.

Kazakh people are born with a talent to sing and dance. Visitors are invited to join in creating a hilariously interactive atmosphere.

Kazakhstan is ethnically and cultural diverse, due to its population consisting of various ethnic groups, including Kazakh, Russian, Ukrainian, Uzbek and Tatar.

With an area of 2.7 million square kilometers, Kazakhstan is the ninth-largest country in the world. And the largest landlocked country, equivalent to the size of Western Europe.

Kazakhstan shares borders with Russia, Uzbekistan, China, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan. Its terrain extends west to east from the Caspian Sea to the Altay Mountains, and north to south from the plains of Western Siberia to the oases and deserts of Central Asia.
