Xinhua has compared the car rental and bicycle rental services in Beijing in Moving in Beijing Series 1, travelers to Beijing can enjoy free bicycle services now according to a new policy.

Bicycle rentals have the advantage of a lower prices and flexibility over car rentals. Bicycles are not only convenient to the tourists but also environmental friendly.

On Wednesday, the Beijing government announced it will provide 10,000 free bicycles at hotels and inns ahead of Olympic to advocate a green travel method.

The 119 Olympic contracted hotels will become the first pilot group for the free bicycle services, and more qualified hotels and inns will also provide the free service in the future, according to the Municipal Tourism Administration.

In the "Moving in Beijing Series," Xinhua will provide useful information for overseas visitors. The series will cover the capital's public transit system, taxis, car and bicycle rentals, making their stay here more convenient.
