Places to chill out in Sichuan – Dagu Glacier

Boasting lush forests and alpine meadows dotted with wild flowers under the sparkling snow-capped peaks, Dagu Glacier scenic area is one of the best places to escape the summer heat in the southwestern province of Sichuan.
Said to be the highest in the world, a cableway lifts visitors to 4,860 meters above sea level, where a solitary coffeehouse offers not only a nice cup of coffee, but also the best possible site to view the breathtaking sceneries from above.
The scenic area is located in Heishui county, Aba Tibetan and Qiang autonomous prefecture, some 260 kilometers away from Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan and the regional transportation center. The Hongyuan Airport in the neighboring Hongyuan county is the nearest, approximately 90 kilometers away.
