A view of Jiuzhaigou, a scenic area in Sichuan province on the UNESCO World Natural Heritage list, Feb. 11, 2018. Jiuzhaigou, which literally means "nine-settlement valley", is named for the nine Tibetan settlements in the mountain valley in Aba on the eastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Some 108 transparent alpine lakes, as well as Tibetan and Qiang cultures, attract visitors to the region. The scenic area will gradually reopen this year after efforts to fix damage caused by a magnitude 7 earthquake on Aug 8. [Photo by An Yuan/China News Service]
