The output value of Chinese wolfberry produced in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region reached 13 billion yuan in 2016, according to Ningxia Department of Forestry on March 28.
Until the end of last year, the planting area of Chinese wolfberry in Ningxia has reached 60,000 hectares with the output of dried fruit totaling 93,000 tons. The annual output value reached 13 billion yuan in 2016. There are now more than 40 kinds of related deep processing products like drinks, oral liquids and seed oils.
Until now, over 60 enterprises in Ningxia have export rights of Chinese wolfberry and the products have been exported to more than 50 countries and regions. Its export volume in Ningxia has surpassed 5,000 tons, accounting for over 60 percent of the national figure.
