The Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region will invest 5.73 billion yuan in education this year, up by 12.3 percent year on year, according to Ningxia Finance Department on March 13.
Ningxia will build 220 kindergartens in rural areas, guarantee full coverage of preschool education at villages with more than 1,500 eligible poor people, and improve the enrollment rate of three-year preschool kindergarten by 4 percentage points. Ningxia will also improve compulsory education in poverty-stricken areas, build up, renovate and expand classrooms and playgrounds totaling 890,000 square meters, and make the average educational development at county and municipal levels accepted by the autonomous regional inspection organ. Ningxia will improve the infrastructure and education at high schools, support qualified universities to develop into elite ones and cultivate first-class disciplines, accelerate construction of vocational training centers, advance university-enterprise cooperation and integration of industry and education , enhance national and special education, support and regulate non-government funded education.
