The Terminal 3 of the Yinchuan Hedong International Airport was put into operation on Dec. 27 in Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
It is reported that the designed annual passenger and cargo throughputs of the airport can reach 10 million people and 100,000 tons respectively after the new terminal is put into operation. Apart from the construction of the Terminal 3, runways of the airport were also extended; a station site, parking lot, control tower and other facilities were newly built and the road transport system was enhanced in its third extension project.
In addition, advanced and green technologies like facial recognition, automatic luggage sorting and check-in systems and photovoltaic power generation system were also introduced at the airport.
