The foreign trade volume in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region totaled $400 million in January, up by 32.1 percent year on year. Among the figure, the export volume reached $310 million and the import volume totaled 90 million, up by 24.1 and 67.2 percent respectively.
The international freight train in Ningxia made its debut from Yinchuan to Kazakhstan on January 15, 2016. Until now, there have been 6 international freight trains launched in Ningxia. The Yinchuan Comprehensive Bonded Area completed import and export freight totaling $58 million in January, accounting for 14.5 percent of the total figure in Ningxia.
“The processing trade enterprises and businesses grew to a great extent and the exhibition and cross-border trade at the bonded area also increased fast,” said an officer at the Yinchuan Custom. “All those contributed to the growth of foreign trade in Ningxia in January.”
