According to Transportation Department of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, more than 60 billion yuan will be invested to build 5 highways, with total length reaching 850 kilometers, during the period of the thirteenth Five-Year Plan.
“By 2020, the total length of accessible motor ways will reach 36,000 kilometers, with 2000 kilometers of highways. A relatively complete network of highways will be established”, said Xu Xuemin, the chief of Transportation Department of Ningxia.
In addition, Ningxia will build highways to main cities in surrounding provinces, such as Hohhot, Baotou, Wuhai, Xi’an, Lanzhou etc. Within Ningxia, there will be two national-level highways linking Yinchuan, Wuzhong, Shizuishan, Zhongwei and Guyuan.
