Li Jianhua, CPC secretary of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Committee, responded positively to a report by Ningxia Daily, entitled “a commentary letter from a 77-year-old journalist, to a Ningxia tour guide” on Nov. 8. He noted that the professional qualities and dedication of Li Lingyu, the above mentioned tour guide, served as an example for all the staff in the tourist industry, and that each tour guide is an image of Ningxia, and shares responsibility for the development of local tourism.
From August 28 to September 1, Ruan Guanrong, a 77-year-old journalist from Beijing came to Ningxia for sightseeing. As well as natural landscapes and places of cultural interests, what impressed him the most was the considerate service of Li Lingyu. After the tour, Ruan wrote a commentary letter for her, sending it to China National Tourism Administration and the editorial department of Ningxia Daily at the same time. The letter said that Li Lingyu, the tour guide was most hospitable and considerate in all aspects, and highly professional in her introduction to the sites. She didn’t persuade visitors into buying anything, as some tour guides would do, and gave back the saved expenses at the end of the tour.
According to the tourism bureau of Ningxia, much light is shed on the training of tour guides, and incentive mechanisms are conducted.
