In the first half of this year, Ningxia has issued 3,090 certificates of origin for exported products, involving 278 million US dollars, it is learned from Ningxia Inspection and Quarantine Bureau.
The products, including wolf-berry and activated carbon, were exported to the European Union, ASEAN, Pakistan, South Korea among other regions and countries.
Since Ningxia issued the first certificate of origin for wolf-berry exported to Japan on August 1, 2007, ‘made in Ningxia ’exports have had their ‘economic passports.’
Since China signed free trade agreements with South Korea and Australia in June, the country has been in talks with a number of countries on such deals. As a useful tool, the certificate of origin can not only identify the exports’ origin country, but also entitle enterprises to enjoy lower tariff and convenient customs clearance brought about by preferential policies of free trade agreements.
Recently, Ningxia Inspection and Quarantine Bureau issued the first paperless certificate of origin for a batch of threonine exported to the Netherlands, realizing ‘paperless certificate of country of origin declaration’ successfully.
