Inauguration of Ningxia Standard Development Committee of Halal Food Certification was held on Jul. 31.
Its letter of appointment was awarded by Wang Heshan, deputy chairman of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Major responsibilities of this committee are developing Islamic dietary compliance and promoting the international influence of Ningxia Halal Certification.
This committee consists of experts in Islamic culture, Halal industry, food engineering, nutrition & food safety, standardization and international trade. It also invited government officials and world renowned scholars as counselors.
In his keynote speech, Wang Heshan asked the committee to help accelerate the development of Ninxia Halal food industry on the basis of profound researches of its standard development and exporting situation. He stressed that the upcoming China (Ningxia) International Halal Food Certification Forum would be a great chance for bringing Ningxia Halal food certifiers to the world.
Right after the inauguration, initial works have been discussed in its first meeting.
As an outstanding specialty industry in Ningxia, Halal business plays a key role in the economic and trade exchanges with Arabic countries and other Muslim regions. The establishment of the committee gives more to expect of the development of Halal industry on the Silk Road Economic Belt.
