The economic and trade cooperation between Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Taiwan has maintained good momentum over the past few years. The import and export volume between the two places has increased from US$ 40.87 million in 2009 to US$ 210 million in 2014.
During the past year, the import and export volume between Ningxia and Taiwan skyrocketed with an annual increasing speed of 709.4 percent. The import and export volumes reached US$ 140 million and US$67.46 million, up 6112.7 percent and 183.3 percent year on year respectively. The main imported goods are integrated circuits and the exported ones are carbon products, chemical materials, medicines and rare metals.
Until the end of 2014, Taiwan entrepreneurs have invested on 65 enterprises and 56 projects in Ningxia with an accumulative investment of US$ 68.24 million. The actual inflow of investment has totaled US$ 6.66 million until now. The projects cover new materials, beverage, real estate, agricultural and sideline products processing and Chinese medicine.
